Frozen Vanilla Yogurt Bites Recipe

If afternoons hit and you’re craving something cold and a little sweet, but you don’t want to end up in a full ice cream spiral, these are such a good middle ground.

I started making these frozen vanilla yogurt bites on a whim one day, mostly because I had yogurt I needed to use and kids asking for snacks every five minutes. And now they’re one of those things I keep in the freezer all the time!

They’re creamy, a little crunchy, naturally sweet, and feel like a treat without the added sugars; a win-win in my book!

Also, if you have kids, this doubles as an activity. Mine think they’re decorating dessert 🙂 Here is my simple recipe for you to enjoy!

Why You’ll Love These Frozen Yogurt Bites

  • They actually keep you full: Between the Greek yogurt and optional collagen, there’s enough protein here to make this healthy snack more than just a quick sugar hit. I notice I’m way less snacky after eating a few.
  • Sweet, but not too much: The fruit does most of the work, which I like. It’s sweet without feeling over the top.
  • You get that crunch + creamy combo: The granola on top is key. It makes them feel way more like a “real” snack.
  • Easy to tweak depending on what you have: Different fruit, different granola, dairy-free yogurt, it’s hard to mess these up, just use what you and your family love!

Frozen Vanilla Yogurt Bites Recipe

Servings: 18
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Freeze Time: 2-4 hours
Total Time: Up to 4 hours 10 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups Greek vanilla yogurt
  • 1/2 cup blueberries (fresh or frozen)
  • 1/2 cup strawberries, sliced
  • 1/4 cup granola (your favorite kind, I LOVE this protein granola or make your own!)
  • 2 scoops collagen (optional)

Instructions

  1. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup. In a bowl, mix the yogurt and collagen (if using) until smooth.

Spoon 2-3 tablespoon-sized dollops of the yogurt mixture onto the baking sheet, spaced apart.
  1. Top each bite with a few blueberries, strawberry slices, and a sprinkle of granola.
  1. Freeze for 2-4 hours, or until firm.
  1. Serve immediately, or store in a sealed container or freezer bag for up to 2 weeks.

Notes

  • If your freezer runs really cold, let them sit out for a minute or two before eating
  • If you’re using plain yogurt, you might want to add a little honey or maple syrup
  • Don’t overthink the portions, uneven bites still taste the same!

Storage

Just keep them in a sealed container in the freezer. They’ll last a couple weeks, but honestly they disappear way before that over here!

Make It Your Own

  • Swap in raspberries, mango, or banana slices
  • Add chia seeds or hemp hearts for a little extra fiber
  • Use dairy-free yogurt if that’s what you need
  • Let your kids add toppings themselves, it somehow makes them more likely to eat them! Even if that is dye free sprinkles 😉

Final Thoughts

These are one of those protein snacks that end up replacing other things without you trying. Like instead of grabbing something random, you just reach in the freezer and grab a couple of these homemade frozen yogurt bites!

They’re simple, they taste good, and these high protein vanilla yogurt bites make snack time feel a little more put together, even on chaotic days.

If you give them a try, I’d love to hear what toppings you added!
