After having a baby, it is so common to hear, “It is just hormones” or “This is normal postpartum.” And while yes, hormones absolutely play a role, I also believe moms deserve real answers, not vague reassurance.
Postpartum is a massive shift. Your body has gone through pregnancy, birth, and now the ongoing demands of motherhood. Sleep is disrupted. Stress is high. Nutrient stores are often depleted. Mentally and emotionally, you are navigating a brand new version of yourself.
I wanted to actually see what was happening inside my body instead of guessing. I wanted data that could help me understand my hormones, nutrients, inflammation, and overall health. That is what led me to Superpower.
I asked my doctor to get my hormones tested and only got 3 done, and everything was “normal.” I was so grateful when I found Superpower so I could get as many as possible done to see where my actual levels were at. Turns out, my labs were NOT normal.
I wanted to share my experience with Superpower and share if I think it is worth it to get labs done with them.

What Is Superpower?
Superpower is a membership based health program where you pay a fee, complete comprehensive lab work, and receive detailed results on hundreds of biomarkers. Once your labs are complete, you have access to your results for a full year.
Inside the platform, you can:
- View extensive lab results across many systems of the body
- Ask questions about your results
- Get supplement and medication recommendations directly through the program
- Continue learning and checking in on your health over time
For me, the biggest draw was being able to look beyond a basic lab panel and see a much fuller picture of what was going on postpartum.

My Experience Getting Labs Done
One of the things that stood out immediately was how easy the lab process was.
The blood draw itself took about five minutes! I was in and out quickly, which matters so much as a mom. I did not have to rearrange my entire day or sit in a waiting room forever like I normally have to.
Even more impressive, I received my results within four days, and this was during the holidays. That turnaround time alone felt like a win.

What I Loved About Superpower
Here are my favorite things about Superpower:
Fast, simple lab process: The ease of getting labs done cannot be overstated. It felt very mom friendly and realistic for a busy season of life.
Seeing hundreds of biomarkers: Instead of just checking one or two things, I was able to see a wide range of data. Hormones, nutrients, metabolic markers, inflammation, and more. It gave me a much deeper understanding of my health rather than focusing on one isolated number.
One year of access and support: Having ongoing access to results and the ability to ask questions felt empowering. Postpartum health is not a one and done situation. Your body continues to change, and having that long term access matters.

Using Superpower’s AI for Personalized Guidance
One feature I found especially interesting inside Superpower was the ability to ask their AI questions about your results.
After your labs are in, you can use the AI to help you understand what certain biomarkers mean, how different results may be connected, and what areas of health might need more support.
Instead of staring at a long list of numbers and feeling overwhelmed, you can ask questions in plain language and get responses tailored to your labs.
For postpartum moms, this can feel really helpful. When you are tired, foggy, and already carrying so much mental load, having a place to ask, “What could be contributing to this?” or “What should I focus on first?” can bring a lot of clarity.
That said, I see this AI support as educational, not diagnostic. It is a tool to help you understand patterns and possibilities, not a replacement for medical care or individualized postpartum support.
I appreciated using it as a starting point for deeper conversations and more informed decisions about my health.
Used thoughtfully, it can help bridge the gap between getting your labs back and knowing what to do next, which is often where moms feel stuck.

Where Superpower Fell Short for Me
I want to be honest and balanced, because no program is perfect. Here are a few things that could definitely be improved:
Additional fees for more biomarkers: While the base labs are extensive, there are additional costs if you want certain extra markers. That is something I wish had been clearer upfront.
There were some hormones I wanted but couldn’t get because it was another fee on top of the original.
No app: There is currently no mobile app, which made accessing results feel less convenient than it could be. As a mom, an app would make checking labs or reviewing notes much easier.
How results are labeled: Results are marked as out of range, normal, or optimal. My issue is that some values labeled “normal” were still high or low in a way that did not feel supportive of true postpartum healing.
Normal does not always mean ideal, especially for moms recovering from pregnancy and birth. I wish the language reflected that more clearly.

My Take as a Postpartum Professional
From my perspective as a mom, a doula, and someone with a background in psychology and holistic support, I see lab testing like this as a tool, not a diagnosis or a magic fix.
Labs can validate what you are already feeling. They can guide conversations, supplementation, and lifestyle changes. They can help you stop blaming yourself and start understanding your body with more compassion.
They should always be used alongside real support, rest, nourishment, mental health care, and individualized guidance. Numbers alone do not tell the full story, but they can be a powerful starting point.
Is Superpower Worth It?
If you are a postpartum mom who feels off, exhausted, anxious, or not quite yourself and you want real data instead of being brushed off, Superpower can be a helpful option.
It is especially valuable if you:
- Want a comprehensive look at your health
- Appreciate fast and convenient lab work
- Like having access to ongoing results and education
It may not be the best fit if:
- You want everything included without add on costs
- You strongly prefer app based platforms
