10 Easy Self-Care Morning Routine Ideas for Moms
Check out this super easy self-care morning routine that moms can do with your kids! It is a nice morning booster and will help start your day off right.
The way you spend your mornings can have a huge impact on how the rest of your day will go, so it’s incredibly important to make them count.
If you don’t have a ton of time for yourself throughout the rest of the day, I highly recommend fueling every morning by practicing a little self-care before you head out of the house.
I’ve found that having a morning self-care routine is crucial for my day as a busy and exhausted mom.
Even if you’re not huge on mornings, little actions can have a ton of impact, so instead of spending half an hour scrolling through social media before you even get out of bed, why not use that time to do something that’s good for you?
If you’re wondering how you can take better advantage of that small window of time you have before your actual day starts, here are some morning self-care ideas to help you set the day up for success!
You can use this as a morning self-care checklist or just give yourself some self care ideas you can do each morning to start your day off right.

Self-Care Morning Routine Ideas for Moms
This is a very simple self care morning routine for women and moms to help you start your day.
I found these self-care rituals to be very easy to do and is a morning routine for success that actually works for me as a tired mom.
Check out this self-care daily routine I try to follow:
Don’t Grab Your Phone
I know how tempting it may be to check your phones for messages and your social media as soon as you wake up, and while I know it can be important, try not to make it a habit to immediately do right when you get up.
You will spend close to an hour scrolling in the morning, and that doesn’t start off your day on the right foot.
Checking your phone before you’re even out of bed will wire your brain and create stress that’s not helpful for you.
Plus, it can make you compare yourself to others, creating limiting beliefs before you even started your day.
Try to wait until after your self-care morning routine before getting on your phone.
Sit and enjoy a cup of tea
Actually sit down and drink a cup of your favorite morning beverage. It is an actual ritual and one that can help you slow down and enjoy a few moments with yourself.

Of course, keep your phone away and just enjoy the moment, even with kids running around you.

This is one of the self-care habits that completely transformed my motherhood experience.
Make Your Bed
I know how small it may seem, but making your bed every morning is a wonderful way to set your brain up for success throughout the rest of the day.
Not only will making your bed help you avoid feeling sluggish in the morning, but that simple act has been proven to be one of the top productivity hacks out there [source].
Simply put, completing such a simple task as soon as you get out of bed wires your brain into that “let’s do things” mode and get you excited to complete the next tasks!
Plus, there’s nothing quite like coming back home in the evening and having a cozy made-up bed waiting!
My kids absolutely LOVE making the bed, so it is on our morning routine list that we all do together. It makes it a lot easier to get done when you do it with your kids too.

Write down your goals for the day
Find a cozy spot and make a thorough list of every single thing you want to achieve today. Writing down goals means setting an intention, and the simple act of doing so will keep you inspired to tackle every single item on your list (plus, it will also help you get organized!).
As a tip, make sure your list is realistic to avoid overwhelming yourself. Moreover, remind yourself it’s not all about what you get done, it’s also about what you do for fun. Add in some time to spend with your kids too!
This can range from going on a walk, dancing with your kids, calling a friend, or just about anything you can think of that you enjoy doing!
Make sure to add in some 5 minute self care activities too.
If writing down a “to-do list” is too much for you to handle, try journaling instead! These self-love journaling prompts are perfect for moms.
Listen to an inspiring podcast
Listening to an inspiring podcast is another one of the great morning self care routines I’ve enjoyed.
Find one that uplifts you and is short enough to help you get on with the rest of your morning ritual ideas.
Plus, you can listen to a podcast while you do other self-care activities like cooking yourself a healthy breakfast or taking a relaxing shower, which is an easy way to fit in two things in just one go.
If podcasts aren’t your thing, try reading some inspiring quotes. Check out these mom self-care quotes.
Eat breakfast
If you’re not the breakfast type, make sure you make it your goal to change that over the following weeks. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, so make sure whatever you eat is filled with protein and healthy vitamins in order to fuel up your body to take on the day.
If you don’t have much time or you simply don’t enjoy cooking complicated meals, something as simple as avocado toast will do just the trick.
You can also make it a weekly goal to batch prepare breakfast every Sunday in order to save time (chia puddings, berry oats, etc. are all great ideas!)
Take Your Vitamins
One of the best morning rituals for good health is to take vitamins and supplements. These will be different for everyone, but I personally take a prenatal vitamin (a pregnancy essential), vitamin d, probiotic, magnesium, and omega-3.

You can get your bloodwork done to find out what exactly your body needs, but be sure to take them everyday!
Exercise
A little movement every morning can have an amazing effect on the way you feel for the rest of the day. Plus, it is one of the best morning rituals for energy.
Depending on how much time you have to spare before you head into your day-to-day activities, make sure you exercise just a little bit every morning.
Be it a short walk around your hood or pressing play on a simple yoga video, whatever you do is guaranteed to fuel you up for the day!
Repeat Your Affirmations
Another one of my favorite self care morning routines is to say my positive affirmations. Not only do they help me set an intention for the day, but they also help me have better self-love for myself.
There are tons of benefits for affirmations too! Here are some of my favorite affirmations:
Hug Your Kids
As a mom, hugging your kids is something that never gets old. Plus, I love to start my day hugging each child, telling them I love them and good morning, and listening to them.
It connects us and helps us to have extra time together, even if it’s just for a couple of minutes. It is my favorite part of my self care morning routine at home by far.
